Oceansprings Mississippi Museums

My husband and I recently had the chance to escape to Biloxi, Mississippi, for a week - long vacation with some of our friends and family. This coastal excursion along the Mississippi River is filled with so many amazing attractions that we can't wait to experience them. For $35, the pass includes admission to seven museums, including the Mississippi Museum of Fine Arts, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi, and visitors can buy tickets online. The museum offers faculty guided tours of the museum's changing exhibitions, including the award-winning film "The Gulf Coast in Spring," and offers free admission to the museum's new exhibit, "Gulf Coast: The Gulf of Mexico," in partnership with the National Geographic Society, as well as a variety of other exhibits.

Participation in Museum Day is free for members of the Mississippi Museum of Fine Arts, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. Ocean Springs is home to several museums and galleries that display fantastic artwork, including the Mississippi Museum of Fine Arts, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. The Museum Day celebrations at the Ocean Springs Museum and Cultural Center are partially supported by the City of Ocean Springs and Jackson County.

Mississippi is a state with a rich and diverse culture, and there are museums celebrating artistic, historical and scientific achievements. Most of the buildings represent the diversity that the Mississippi River represents on the coast, from art to art. From pottery made by Mississippi artists to soap used in the restroom, the entire restaurant is filled with locally made, high-quality products.

The permanent exhibition shows fossils, an aquarium and a greenhouse in which a swamp is located. The American Association of Museums member institutions include more than 1,000 museums, galleries, and other educational institutions in the United States.

A trip to Ocean Springs wouldn't be complete without a stop at the nationally recognized Shed Grill and Blues Joint, where you'll find a prize - award-winning barbecue, great food and a great atmosphere. While staying in Biloxi or Gulfport, MS, you may be itching to discover more of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There are two public jetties for fishing and crabbing, one end anchored and the other open to the public. Florida and Mississippi, including the Gulf Islands National Seashore and the Great Gulf of Mexico National Wildlife Refuge.

Brew Brew, a quaint cafe, is located in the heart of Ocean Springs, just blocks from the beach and a few miles from Gulfport, MS. The hotel is a short walk from the beach.

We were part of a Girl's Getaway 3 press tour that gave us a pass to enter the Walter Anderson Museum of Art. The Community Center is a collection of works by local artists that depict the lives of residents of Ocean Springs and their communities. Some of these works come from a very fine photographic collection called "Walls of Light."

On our last day in Mississippi, we decided to cross the Biloxi Bay Bridge and drive down HWY 90 to Bay St. Louis, where we had the opportunity to explore the shops and restaurants that fill this section - through a small town. Ocean Springs downtown Mississippi is a must-see, and we loved visiting the small shops and restaurants along the downtown coastal streets. Back under the bridge in Ocean Springs, there are numerous restaurants and shops on the banks of the Mississippi River, just a few blocks from the beach. If you're heading east, take the Biloxi Bay Bridge to the city of Ocean City.

Ocean Springs is located just a few miles south of the Mississippi River in Mississippi State and is famous for attracting musicians, artists and other interesting people to the city.

The Ocean Springs Inn, which is also named after the hotel, is located on Washington Avenue, the epicenter of downtown activity.

WAMA is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and opened in Ocean Springs, Massachusetts, in 1991. The complex includes the WAMA Building, the Museum of Natural History and the O.S.O.M.A. Museum, a collection of over 100,000 artifacts from the Mississippi River Valley, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, North Carolina and South Dakota. It is one of only four museums in the state of Mississippi with an annual budget of $1.5 million and the only museum of its kind in Mississippi. Wama is said to be among the 4 percent of museums across the country accredited by the group, which has been in existence for more than 105 years.
